Did you know that as many as 60% of nursing home residents never have a visitor? The Silver Stocking Project reaches out to these residents. “The holiday season can be a sad time of year for people who live in nursing homes,” says Ed McMahon, Ph.D. “It’s a time they reflect back on ‘the good old days,’ and what their lives were like before they came to live in the home. “The volunteers at Silver Stocking take time out of their holiday schedule to deliver the gifts a few days before Christmas.
